Strategic planning has been widely used in several corporate setting to properly document an organization's intended long-term direction, but its fundamentals are often missed. Even its technical term is confused with other types of organizational plans. The process is often reserved for top management to define an organization's vision, mission, values, and goals. It requires establishing a sequence in which those goals should be realized so that the organization can reach its stated vision.
